- Cyber Ranger -
A team of Tag professionals along with two senior employees of Israel’s Nature and Parks Authority (INPA) visited Sarvodaya in Sri Lanka to introduce the Cyber Tracker technology as a tool for disaster preparedness and to improve living conditions. Tag is collaborating with Sarvodaya, Sri Lanka’s largest civil society NGO dedicated to social and economic empowerment. Tag and Sarvodaya have joint projects in the realms of agriculture, community development and technology.
Israel’s Nature and Parks Authority uses Cyber Tracker technology to track and monitor wildlife in parks and nature reserves and to supply a Geographic Information System data base that supports planning and policy. The technology will be adapted for Sri Lanka and the local rangers will be trained to use it to track and monitor spheres of “human-animal conflict” such as snake bites, stray dogs, agricultural damage caused by elephants, and mosquito-borne disease. It will also be used to compile and make readily available data related to disaster relief and preparedness.
