- KEN 3 -
The third KEN workshop was hosted by the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) in Ahmadabad, India in 2010. The sessions focused on disaster from the following perspectives: lessons learned, best practices and the impact of programs and opportunities (both those that materialized and those that were missed). Participants examined interventions during the several phases of post-disaster response and the relationships between local and international NGOs in terms of local capacity building. A key outcome of the third KEN conference was the decision to provide on-going disaster preparedness training. In March, 2011, a webinar was held on the topic of digital technology in the aftermath of disaster. A dedicated website is currently under construction to help disaster response and development agencies to better utilize digital technologies to humanitarian ends. In Ahmadabad, the network expanded to include YAKKUM Christian Foundation for Public Health and 118 Emergency Ambulance Service, both from Indonesia.
