Ukraine Emergency Relief

Emergency Humanitarian Relief

Food parcels; Emergency shelter; Transport to safety

As the brutaly of war continues to ravage communities across Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of people are struggling to meet their basic needs. We are helping to support soup kitchen, distribution of food parcels, accommodation for internally displace refugees, and with provision of urgently-needed medicines.

How we moved to a war footing

Before hostilities began, Tag International Development was working a range of communities to provide high school scholarships and other assistance, as part of the Leiman Youth Scholarship Fund. Four of those are in Ukraine: Zhytomir, Vinnitza, Odessa, and Mykolayev. We even had plans in place to construct an all weather sports and culture facility in Zhytomir.

Since the war started, we have been helping those communities to get their people food, accommodation, medicines, and transport. With Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, we are assisting our partners in Ukraine to provide a range of materials to help people get through the winter.

We have helped thousands of people get to safety outside Ukraine, while we have helped many others move to relatively safer areas within the country. We are helping our partners on the ground to provide hot meals daily to thousands of needy people, while also providing regular basic food packages once or twice a week (depending on the area). Many of those are orphans, disabled and elderly, as well as single mothers with small children.

Many sick and elderly people cannot find the medicines they depend on for their survival. We have been assisting in purchasing these urgently-needed medications.

As community institutions - such as schools - in the hardest hit areas have been closed for months, we are helping our partners on the ground to run summer day camps. The youngsters in these communities have experienced months of horror, and these programs are essential for their emotional wellbeing.

More needs to be done

Thousands of vulnerable people are still in Ukraine, and are looking to us for help for emergency provisions, and for help getting to safety. Prices have skyrocketed and people cannot afford basics.

Once people leave Ukraine, they can access help from a multitude of government agencies and charitable organization, But those still in Ukraine rely on their local communities to assist.

Please help us continue to support our partner communities in Ukraine.
