Tag's youth and girls empowerment work

Teaching life-skills to girls through football

Guaranteeing a better future for communities requires developing youth now.

Developing young people and improving their chance of a better future is critical to changing the prospects for developing countries.

Tag works to empower young people, with a special emphasis on at-risk girls and boys, through improved education and mentoring. Our youth projects also incorporate arts, sport and skills training.

In Ukraine, we are supporting dozens of orphans and at-risk children with warm winter clothes, psychological support, and grants for high-school tuition.

In Kenya, Tag has worked to provide clean drinking water, improve hygiene and sanitation and support girls in education.

Our GOAL football project for girls in Kenya leverages basketball to teach life skills and to inspire at-risk youth towards a commitment to education and success.

Similarly, through the Hoops for Kids project in Kenya thousands of boys and girls have learned valuable life skills. through the project, young people won scholarships to secondary education and sporting opportunities.

Our efforts extend to developing an integrated life-skills training program to increase the effectiveness of life-skills education for youth.

We worked to enhance employability skills for disadvantaged youth in Myanmar by providing training and mentoring, and facilitating direct linkages with employers to unlock employment opportunities.

In partnership with Microsoft, we helped disadvantaged youth in Myanmar to obtain technology and entrepreneurship skills that give access to employment opportunities.

We have likewise been empowering youth from slums in Kenya with technological and entrepreneurial skills.
